“Each individual on the Ebbwater team brings a unique perspective to the team—but what unites is a desire and a commitment to our mission to make communities more resilient (and a fair bit of nerdiness, too).” ~ Tamsin Lyle
Tamsin Lyle, MEng, MRM, P.Eng,
Tamsin is an engineer and policy analyst who’s passionate about working in the murky and marvelous space between disciplines. She is equally at home speaking about hydraulic equations as she is speaking to people about the challenges they have faced during disasters. When out of the office she loves nothing more than mucking about on, in, or near water with her two kids.
Silja Hund, MSc, PhD,
Hydrologist and Risk Analyst
Silja is a hydrologist and risk analyst, focusing on hydrological extremes under climate change and their associated risks for communities and natural environments. She likes to dig deep into scientific analysis and research, learning from communities, then sharing key messages. When she isn’t captivated by her latest book, Silja enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family.
Robert Larson, MSc, P.Ag,
Rob is a “hydrogeneralist” who likes translating complex water-related problems into meaningful actions. As a project manager with a big-picture mindset, he obtains desired outcomes by consistently asking questions—including the awkward ones. He enjoys skiing with his family and coaching his kids’ soccer teams.
Linda Fang, MSc, P.E,
Linda is a hydrotechnical specialist with more than 10 years of experience in water infrastructure and flood modelling projects. She’s technically driven and enthusiastic about all things water and data. When not at Ebbwater, you can find her painting watercolours.
Nikoletta Stamatatou, MSc, P.Eng,
Nikoletta is a hydrotechnical engineer and data analyst who has a keen interest in hydrological extremes. She can easily find her verve while analyzing huge datasets, or working directly with people and communities. Nikoletta enjoys all types of arts and crafts, from painting to weaving, and loves creating something beautiful out of simple materials.
Jessica Cochran, MSc, P.E,
As an Ebbwater H&H specialist, Jessica designs hydraulic models for floodplain, flood, and risk mapping to inform sound community decisions. Jessica enjoys long walks on the floodplains and the intricacies of water resources.
Yinlue Wang, MSc,
Yinlue is a data-driven hydrotechnical specialist. He’s always curious about land and waterscapes, and keen to utilize his expertise to help different communities with risk mitigation to find a balance with water—both as a focalpoint of communities and a vital source of life. Yinlue enjoys skiing, surfing, and jiujitsu.
Reza Rezvani, MSc,
Junior Hydrotechnical Specialist
Reza’s background is in in hydrology and water resources engineering. His expertise in modeling comes from a passion for climate science and data-driven results.
Outside of the office Reza enjoys playing basketball.
Paula has over ten years experience in office administration. She has a passion for sustainability and is happy to support the Ebbwater team by keeping things running smoothly. Paula enjoys hiking the north shore and curling up with a good book.
Justin Chan, CEng MICE(UK),
Hydrotechnical Specialist/Data Scientist
Justin is a hydrotechnical specialist and data scientist, who combines machine learning with flood and natural hazard management. With a strong foundation in data science, he’s currently pursuing MSc in Computer Science at Georgia Tech. His expertise also extends to managing civil engineering projects. Beyond work, Justin enjoys jamming on his electric bass or taking a refreshing swim.
