Tara Sherman, Hydrotechnical Engineer
Tara joined Ebbwater in 2017 to provide hydrotechnical analysis, GIS and project management support . She is a water resources engineer with over 10 years experience working as a consulting engineer for government and private industry clients across western Canada. She has extensive experience developing computer models for neighbourhood level drainage planning and infrastructure design as well as large scale, basin level assessment and planning. Project experience is varied and includes stormwater management, wastewater collection systems, inflow and infiltration studies, flow monitoring, river engineering, flood studies and hydrologic and hydraulic modelling. Through her project work over the last 10 years, she has developed a keen attention to detail that is balanced with a sense for big picture thinking.
Tara’s professional career has been focused on the technical details of stormwater and wastewater management but her passion lies in informing people and planning decisions through the translation of technical data into language that can be understood by everyone. She believes good communication is the backbone of the success of all projects, large and small, and hopes to contribute to the conversation surrounding flood risk in the years to come.
